Woodside Village Apartments partnered with the Prince George’s County Fire and Police departments to continue their efforts to end senior hunger. Along with State Senator C. Anthony Muse the PGFD and PGPD donated and delivered 50 baskets of food to the apartments in Fort Washington on December 12, 2014. According to a study conducted by the USDA, 8.7% of elderly persons 65 and older are below the national average in lacking reliable resources to affordable and nutritional meals and the baskets help assist the less fortunate with nutritious meals during the holidays. To donate or volunteer to help end senior hunger visit the Fort Washington Food Pantry.
Woodside Village would also like to thank our sponsors, Giant and Shopper’s Food, for their donation this past Thanksgiving of $5 bags and $10 boxes of fruit and veggies to our senior residents. The donations provided by their generous customers support our senior residents nutritional needs.
